Aluvión Vineyards was founded in 2007 by two couples who travelled to Argentina together the previous year. It was Jo and Bob’s sixth date and Catherine and Ed were recently engaged. We expected a land that celebrated Eva Perón, Maradona, gauchos and the tango. We got that…and so much more. We also discovered majestic beauty all around us, amazing cuisine, and stunning old-world wines. We liked the wine so much we established a 10 acre vineyard in Argentina’s Uco Valley, nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Aluvión refers to the rich, alluvial soils in the region that help create ideal conditions for creating premium wines. Seven years and four children later we have launched our first wine, after patiently nurturing it through extended maturation in French oak barrels and further aging in the bottle. We hope you enjoy our wine as much as we have enjoyed the journey in its production.
