Deep red colour with blackish hues. Nose clean and fruity. In the mouth, it has a good body with very smoth tannins but firm that reflect the elegante but powerful style of the wine. Good acidity and a pleasant finish.
93% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc
After a double sorting at the winery, the grapes were dropped by gravity to the small steel tank where the primary fermentation was performed. A 7,74 % saignée was taken on the first day. Cold maceration lasted for 9 days and alcoholic fermentation went on for 11 days at an average temperature of 82,4ºF (28ºC). The wine was placed in 100% new Boutes French barrels where malolactic fermentation occurred naturally. Oak ageing lasted 30 months.
Food Pairing Notes
The obvious suggestion would be to pair this wine with grilled chops: veal or pork. But together with roast racks of lamb (served pink) Krasia May Merlot makes an unbeatable pairing. It will also excel with roast chicken, duck or turkey. Versatile and powerful, it will add complexity to almost any pasta, game or meat dish.
